It equips participants with the foundational skills needed to interpret welding drawings and effectively communicate welding requirements in both field and shop settings. Key topics include the purpose and interpretation of weld symbols, types of welds and their applications, welding terminology, joint configurations, and the importance of tolerances, dimensions, and related annotations.

  • This beginner-friendly course is ideal for those looking to build foundational skills in Stick welding (SMAW), a versatile and widely-used technique known for its simplicity and portability. The class combines theoretical instruction with hands-on practice, covering essential topics such as Stick welding principles, equipment setup, safety procedures, basic welding on various metals, defect troubleshooting, and welding in multiple positions.

  • Exposure to CNC machining processes including CAD, CAM, and finished assembly. Students will program, machine, and assemble their own Air Piston.

  • Funded through the Department of Defense, no cost for this training unless it is run as a private boot camp for an employer.

Students will gain hands-on experience with the machinery, tools, and software commonly used in the industry, and develop the skills necessary to produce precision parts with accuracy and efficiency.

    Introduction to CNC Milling & Basic Programming
    Start with the basics of CNC milling machines, including machine components, controls, and safety. Learn CNC programming fundamentals, including G-code and M-code, and dive into machine setup, tool offsets, and workpiece alignment. Optional session on CNC CAM software introduces toolpath generation and simulation.
